End economic abuse in separation and divorce IK

Help us end financial abuse in partnerships

economic abuse after separation and divorce

Financial abuse does not always end when a relationship ends. Too often, economic abuse continues through family law after separation.

birds flyin’ is working to expose and challenge financial abuse in partnerships, particularly where it escalates during divorce proceedings in the UK. What begins as control at home can become financial pressure in court — through withheld maintenance, hidden income, enforced debt or procedural delay.

We are building awareness, publishing guidance and advocating for change so that economic abuse in divorce is recognised and addressed.

This work takes time, research and independent funding.

If you believe financial abuse after separation should not determine who faces homelessness, debt or long-term instability, please consider making a donation.

Your support helps us:

  • Raise awareness of economic abuse in UK family law
  • Provide accessible guidance for those navigating divorce
  • Challenge systems that enable financial control post-separation
  • Campaign for fairer outcomes in family court

Every donation strengthens the call to end financial abuse in partnerships.
